Five for February 10th:
‘Zines. The new issue of Juice is beyond insane. If you’re even casually into skateboarding or punk rock, you need to go pick it up. It’s just flat out the coolest magazine of all time. And it’s $3.99. Plus the back cover is a full-cover Ripper! I want to buy another copy just so I can cut out that back cover and frame it. Oh, and speaking of that...
Friday. This week blasted by. This weekend should be pretty awesome, despite the lingering cold. Fish fry tonight, laying low tomorrow, possibly attending the Soulard dog parade with Henry on Sunday, but it looks like that’s getting sidelined in favor of rebuilding our laundry room.
Fresh takes on old tunes. Any reservations we may have had about being able to play all of “Modernity” on 3/3 went out the window last night. We charged through at least 5 songs from that album that we hadn’t played in years (and Andy had never played) and they sounded great. I’m certain some of them will end up getting re-incorporated into our current set list.
Art of Board. This might be the coolest company ever. It’s an awesome concept and another thing that is so totally obvious that I can’t believe I didn’t think of it first. I want everything I own to come from these guys.
Ranchito Friday. Sure, we’ve been there once this week already. But it’s cheap and I forgot to bring anything.
