may sixteenth

Five for May 16th:

Midwest Mayhem. A lethal combination of few disposable dollars, errands to run, a crabby kid, and more or less completely forgetting about it till the last minute meant I ended up skipping last night’s Midwest Mayhem at City Museum. Looked fun on Instagram. Next year.

Long day. Lisa had to be at Wash U at 6:30 this morning for commencement, which is sheer insanity. Of course, this meant I had to get up early to take care of everything around the house before Jane woke up. Already heaping on the caffeine.

Biking in. Gearing up to ride the first part of next week (at least) if the weather is good, and all signs point to “it will be”. Excited to get back on the saddle and into the sun after this rainy, cold week.

Cool stuff. Payday, DIY X-Men Wolverine claws, Natas and Lance in the Skateboarding Hall of Fame (apparently there is such a thing), taking Jane out for ice cream, Here is St. Louis Two, new vacuum, Sumatra K-cups.

Weekend action. Unlike last weekend, which was packed wall-to-wall with obligations and long hours on the road, this weekend is free and clear as far as the eye can see. Only solid plans are skating tomorrow morning at JB. Probably hitting up Taste of Maplewood and Soulard Market as well. Aside from that, the sky's the limit.
