Five for November 23rd:
America 2016. When we're not electing thin-skinned white nationalist reality television stars to the highest levels of government, we're using militarized forces working on behalf of foreign oil companies to aggressively attack native Americans protecting sacred land two days before Thanksgiving. Save ‘em some of that sweet potato casserole!
New Metallica. It goes without saying that Hardwired has easily replaced Death Magnetic as the best record they’ve put out since the Black Album. Still digging into it, but it’s a good solid return to form after a couple decades of disjointed attempts to reinvent themselves.
Grosso’s Loveletters. The new “Skate Rock” episode is the longest one yet; basically a mini-documentary clocking in at 24 minutes and putting it squarely into actual TV-show territory. Also it’s rad.
Cool stuff. Sidewalk Surf’s Up, obligatory holiday popcorn tin at work, free Red Fang poster, chap-stick 3-pack.
Long weekend action. Getting ready for four days of running around to various family events and other random fun, starting off with a date night tonight and some skate sessions peppered in for good measure. Hopefully the weather cooperates. Seeya Monday.
